Embroidery Basics

Embroidery for embellishment is like coloring with thread. In this class you will learn Stem Stitch, Satin Stitch, Lazy Daisy, and French Knot (see photo). Also included will be embroidery technique and best practices. By the end of class you will have started your stitch sampler and the beginning of your first reusable napkin!

February 28th, 6pm to 8pm, $20 class, includes materials

Bring your child (8+) for you both to learn! $10 fee for your child with your adult registration.

Create Together!

This Mommy & Me class is designed for the Crafty Mom and her preschooler. Start with an engaging story circle lead by a ReCreate staff member, then make a creation relating to the story with your child. Each month will be a unique experience. Ages 2-5. Parent participation is a must. Classes run on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.

$10 for the first child.

$7 for additional sibling. For more than two children, please bring another adult (second adult at no charge).

No more plastic bags needed! Shop in style and help reduce textile waste in the environment. Join us as we learn to sew simple lined shopping bags that roll up for easy storage. With a simple pattern you can create different size shopping bags for all your shopping needs. These bags are also great gifts for family and friends.  
 

October 25th, 6pm to 8pm, $25 includes supplies.   We have a few sewing machines, but would like you to bring one if you have it.

Epic Party of Making - to celebrate the Maker-Mobile launch party

Join ReCreate for a night of creativity and making, as we unveil our educational Maker Mobile. 

ReCreate's Maker Mobile will be traveling the region providing educational making opportunities to the students in our schools, in the areas of Science, Tech, Engineering, Art and Math. 

We will have demos of our 3D Printers, and Laser Cutter, our tech goodies, and more.

We will have several make and take home projects like:

Make your own ornaments from natural and recycled materials. Wine cork snowmen and felted animals are just some of the crafty ideas we’ll share—along with the materials to make several ornaments to take home.

littleBits Star Wars Challenge

The challenge: We challenge you to invent a new gadget for your favorite Star Wars character, then film a video recreating your favorite scene, starring them and their new creation. There will be a number of categories to participate in-- more to come when we launch on November 19.

Come use our littleBits parts to make a gadget and film an i-movie with your new gadget. 

The littleBits grand prize winner (from this global challenge) will receive a trip to the new Star Wars theme park at Disney World (opening next year) in Orlando, FL. The finalists will receive littleBits prizes also! - Note: These awards are judged and rewarded via littleBits.  littleBits parts remain at ReCreate, for future workshops.
